Charging Bag Keeps Your Hoverboard From Burning Down Your House
Hoverboard Charging Bag - Don't Burn Your House Down
Many people these days are worried about hoverboards catching on fire when charging. There's a new product out being sold on Ali Express which is supposed to not only keep a fire from spreading, but is also supposed to choke the oxygen from the fire and keep it from burning.I've read mixed reviews of how well these work but it's an interesting product. Checkout the video below to learn more.

Amazon Has Stopped Selling Hoverboards
Amazon Stopped Selling Hoverboards
Not sure if any of you have browsed Amazon.Com lately but you may or may not have noticed that they have stopped selling hoverboards. We all know the media made quite a stir about hoverboards catching on fire. For a short period of time Amazon really cracked down on boards and pulled most off the site. Shortly after that however Razor and 2 or 3 other companies submitted the proper documentation stating their boards were properly made according to USA standards and were allowed to continue selling hoverboards.
Amazon Stopped Selling Hoverboards |
It seems other countries can be more strict as Amazon gave UK customers refunds and hadd them turn in their boards months before the USA recall.
Eventually however Amazon did contact USA customers and offered them credit to send their boards back.
For a while it seemed Amazon deemed Razor company a safe board and heavily promoted the boards on their site. Amazon even seemed to side with Razor on the copyright issue with some sellers being sent cease and desist letters through Amazon from Razor stating Razor owned the rights to this product. Shortly after that howeever all boards were pulled from the site.
Will they come back? Only time will tell. For now eBay is still selling hoverboards as well as Ali Express. Best of luck.

Why I Started A Blog About Hoverboards?
Why I Started A Hoverboard Blog
Hoverboards, self balance scooters, mini segways, monorovers, whatever name you call them by they are the two wheel rideable device made popular by celebrities like Justine Bieber, Wiz Kalifa, and more. Many people ask me why I started a hoverboard blog. I started a hoverboard blog because I enjoy riding hoverboards, I enjoy fixing scooters and enjoy working on them, and I like writing about and getting involved in businesses that interest me.
It's also a great topic to blog about. I love helping people and hoverboards and how to repair them is something few people on the internet know how to do. There's also very few local shops. This is a big problem since some people paid as much as $1500 for these things, they don't want to just throw them out in the garbage when they break, they'd like to get them fixed.
Fixing hoverboards can be easy or can be very challenging. If your just getting started I'd recommend watching some youtube videos to familiarize yourself with the more common problems that come up and how to fix them.
If you're interested in learing how to fix boards I'd recomend you check out a Youtube Channel called HoverboardFAQ. They have videos showing how to fix pretty much any problem that could occur to a hoverboard.

How To Replace A Hoverboard Charging Port
New Hoverboard Charging Port
One of the most common things to go bad on a hoverboard is the charging port. Some people bend the pins, other people accidentally trip over the charging cable and rip the port out of the board.Thankfully it's a very easy fix and a fairly cheap part. You can find a replacement part for anywhere from $15 to $30 on eBay, Amazon or HoverboardScooterParts.Com.
It's also an easy fix, just remove the bottom case ofthe board, there is a single threaded washer holding the port on. Remove that, throw in the new port, put the threaded washer back on and you are back in business.

Will Hoverboards Continue To Be Popular In 2016?
Will Hoverboards Still Be Popular In 2016?
Hoverboard Self Balancing Scooters were the hottest Christmas gift of 2015. Though they were the gift of 2015 they didn't really start gaining in popularity until the weeks leading up to Christmas when they were insanely popular and millions upon millions of boards were sold.Hoverboards In 2016 |
All the sudden after Christmas however sales and it seems interest as well died down. Was this a short lived fas or will hoverboards continue to be popular in 2016? only time will tell.
Personally, my opinion is that they will. First off Amazon completely stopped selling Hoverboards recently so that's one less place to buy. Chinese shippers have stopped shipping boards over as too many are being stopped by customs. Also were in the dead of winter in most of the country, you can only ride a hoverboard around your Kitchen island so many times before it gets boring.
It seems sales have already started slightly picking up with everyone getting their tax refund checks. I have a feeling when the weather warms up and people are not only able to ride outside but see others riding outside more people will be running out to get boards.
As far as hoverboards dying out, honestly I think this "two wheel rideable" industry is just taking off. Self Balancing Scooters may die out but the next thing will be one wheel motorcycles or one wheel skateboards. As one device phases out another will take its place.
What do you think? What does the hoverboard industry and hoverboard world look like in 2016?

Do Samsung Hoverboard Batteries Really Exist?
Do Samsung Hoverboard Batteries Really Exist
You always hear people talking about how they have Samsung batteries in their hoverboard. Is this true? Chances are no.First off, there is no such thing as a Samsung or LG hoverboard battery. Samsung and LG do not make this product. That said some manufacturers may use Samsung or LG cells to put together their battery, it's still not a Samsung product however.
Add to this that 90% of people claiming to have Samsung batteries are not even using Samsung cells. I've personally spoken to many sellers and manufactures and most openly admit when questioned that they just slap a Samsung sticker on a board but that it's not really a Samsung battery
For this reason it's not really worth paying a premium price for a Samsung or LG battery as your most likely not getting one anyway.

Where To Buy Parts To Fix Your Hoverboard?
Where To Buy Hoverboard Parts?
Is your hoverboard broken? If so your probably wanting to repair it rather than throwing it in the garbage. But where can you find parts? There's a number of areas to buy parts to fix your hoverboard. eBay and Amazon both have a pretty large marketplace of sellers selling hoverboard self balance scooter parts. You can find a pretty good selection of all types of parts from all types of boards. You can find both male and female gyroscopes, you can find replacement batteries, some even Samsung batteries. You can get replacement wheel motors and a lot of other stuff.
Another great place to buy hoverboard self balance scooter parts is from hoverboardscooterparts.com. They have a friendly staff and a large selection of parts. I've reached out to many hoverboard parts sellers and website and many never even bother to respond. At hoverboardscooter parts they respond to calls and e-mail promptly and have even been helpful when trying to figure out which part I need whether I'm unsure of the wattage of a wheel or not sure if I need a male or female gyro.
The toughest part about fixing a board is just diagnosing the problem and honestly there's no perfect science to it, alot of it is just trial and error replacing one part at a time until the board begins to work again.

Are Hoverboards Really Dnagerous? Will They Really Catch On Fire?
The media has really created a lot of hype around this whole hoverboards catching fire type thing. Is it really that big of a concern however?
No, hoverboards aren't that prone to fires if they are properly made. You hear about all types of things with Lithium iOn batteries exploding. Everything from iphones to power tools, to tablets and computers have exploded. Anything with a lithium ion battery has the capability of catching on fire or exploding.
There's been literally millions upon millions of hoverboard self balance scooters sold and we've only heard of about 10 fire, that's actually a very small number in comparison.
Also, most all the fires have reportedly been from people doing pretty idiotic things such as leaving their board sitting on the charger for days on end when the instructions tell you not to charge your board over 3 hours. If you ignore the directions and safety warnings of anything bad things will happen.
All that said if you buy a quality hoverboard that's properly wired and has a properly made charger with a fuse and cutoff there really isn't that big of a concern of a fire. If you're that concerned keep it in your garage just as you would a car, boat or motorcycle.

What is your favorite style of hoverboard?
What's Your Favorite Hoverboard?
What is your favorite style of hoverboard? At first there was 6.5" boards which were all pretty standard. Today we are seeing some variations on these scooters. Some sellers are beginning to put LED lights above the wheel wells which in the past was something we only saw on the 8" models. We also had the diamond or lambo style. Typically these are 8" boards though occasionally you will see the triangle design in a 6.5" model. The 8" boards typically have LED lights above the wheel wells and contain a bluetooth speaker which can play music through your boards.
Lastly we had the 10" style. Surprisingly all these boards are pretty similar and even built on the same frame, even the larger ones. The 10" boards often had bluetooth and were referred to as the SUV boards because of the larger wheels. It's also important to note the wheels were actually inflatable unlike the hard rubber wheels on smaller models.
Since then however we have seen some new designs come out. We have seen a board called the X1 which some refer to as the Nike board because there's sort of a upside down swish design on it. We also have the batman board and the rock board. Essentially similar designs but with a different style shell.
What's your favorite type of board and why? Leave a comment below.
Hoverboard Parts Are Big Business
Want To Sell Hoverboard Parts?
Hoverboard scooter parts are big business. We all know Hoverboards were the hottest selling toy and christmas gift of 2015. We also all know not all boards were assembled that well or using quality parts. This means many boards are breaking or not working. Some peoples boards lasted a few weeks or months while others only lasted a few hours. Some people paid upwards of $1500 for a board while most people who bought around or prior to Christmas probably paid upwards of $500 before prices came down. This means people with broken boards don't want to throw their $500 piece of technology in the trash, they would rather fix it.
Though some fixes are easy and require no parts such as a loose wire or a board just needing a calibration, some boards need parts to fix them. These parts could be anything from a replacement gyroscope, new motherboard, wheel, or one of many other parts that go bad in these boards. Something like a Charging port which can be purchased wholesale for as little as $3 or $4 can sell for upwards of $29.95 on eBay or Amazon. That's pretty hefty margins and the best part of all, they are small and light which make them an ideal item to send off to Amazon FBA. Also unlike boards which have problems and high return rates, typically in hoverboards, cars, or appliances, parts sales are typically non-refundable meaning you shouldn't have to take many if any returns.
If anyone is interested in getting involved in the hoverboard business there's a great book on Amazon called "Hoverboard Business: Make Money Selling & Repairing Hoverboards." It's a great guide to help get you started making money with hoverboards whether that be through ecommerce, affiliate marketing or starting a parts or repair business.

Fixing Your Hoverboard? Do you need a Male or Female Gyroscope?
So you're hoverboard self balance scooter has stopped working. You need to get a part to fix it. But do you know what part to get? How do you know whether to get a female gyroscope or a male gyroscope.
The easiest way is just to matchup the gyro in your board to the picture of the part you are buying. You want to make sure that the gyroscope has the correct plug to connect with the motherboard.
If you don't purchase the right part you won't be able to connect the motherboard to the gyroscope and it's possible your power light indicators, and other parts also won't properly connect.
